John Westwood – Group Chairman John Westwood is a noted commentator on the energy industries, regularly appearing in international and regional media worldwide. With a background in subsea technology, beginning in the North Sea he spent 12 years in offshore oil & gas industry contracting. He formed his third firm, energy business advisors Douglas-Westwood Limited in 1990. His work on strategies relating to the energy sectors includes oil & gas, conventional and nuclear power generation, renewable energy and energy trading. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Society for Underwater Technology. |

Andrew Reid – Group CEO (Aberdeen) Andrew began his career with an oilfield supplies company before joining investment bankers Simmons & Company in Aberdeen. This was followed by a period with Ernst & Young where he specialised on energy industry mergers & acquisition work in addition to valuations, strategic reviews, and corporate development projects. He joined the board of Douglas-Westwood in 2007 and has since advised clients on deals totalling several billion dollars. Andrew holds an MA (Hons) in Economics & Political Science, an MBA from the Aberdeen Business School and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and of the Corporate Finance Faculty. |

Steve Robertson – Director (Canterbury) Steve joined DW in 2002. He has led DW’s industry-leading research in regions such as Russia and Middle East and many technology areas including onshore oilfield services, drilling markets, field development, floating production and subsea processing. He has managed DW’s commercial due-diligence studies for investment banks and private equity firms and was appointed to the board in 2009. He now heads DW’s worldwide M&A and advisory activities. Steve is a graduate in Economics & Computing and completed an MBA at the University of Kent & Canterbury Business School. |

Steven Kopits – Managing Director (New York) Steven joined DW in 2008 and manages our Wall Street-based US office. He has more than 20 years experience in strategic management consulting and investment banking. He has raised capital for oil & gas technologies companies, assisted oil majors in acquisition and disposal projects, and power companies with plant acquisition and divestiture due diligence. Steven most recently worked for the investment bank of Dahlman Rose & Co. and earlier for New Jersey’s LS Power. He worked in Central Europe for many years, including as a Director for Financial Advisory Services at Deloitte & Touche and in the KPMG organisation. Following his MBA he completed the Masters of International Affairs program at Columbia University New York specialising in International Economics. |

Jason Waldie – Associate Director (Singapore) jason.waldie@douglaswestwood.com Jason heads DW’s Singapore office from where he is responsible for the firm’s activities throughout the Asia/ Australasia region. Previously he spent four years as Group Head of Business Development for a major energy industry information services provider in Singapore. Earlier posts were with Samsung Corporation and Asiana Airlines in Seoul, Korea. Jason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Political Science, an MBA from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Energy Management from the Institut Français du Pétrole; ESCP Europe; Handelshøyskolen BI joint programme. |

Stuart Murphy – Assistant Director Stuart is based in the Aberdeen office where he is actively involved in business development, recruitment, project management and the execution of projects. Stuart is responsible for all financial reporting within Douglas-Westwood and his financial expertise sees him being heavily involved in a large number of projects within our Advisory and Transaction services. Prior to joining Douglas-Westwood Stuart worked as a corporate finance manager for a leading independent Scottish based corporate finance provider. Having previously trained as a Chartered Accountant for KPMG working both in Aberdeen and the British Virgin Islands Stuart is also a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Stuart was educated at the University of Aberdeen and gained an MA (Hons) in Economics. |

Georgie MacFarlan – Manager, Publications Georgie has managed DW's Publications Unit for four years providing services to DW clients worldwide and is also a contributing author to the department’s reports including The World Floating Production Report and The World Deepwater Market Forecast. She previously led DW’s marine advisory activities for two years and has been responsible for the research and analysis of all areas of the marine industry included major marine strategy studies for governments in Canada, Germany and Ireland. As an analyst she worked on many of the firm's studies for banks, oil majors and government departments. Earlier experience includes working for the UK Home Office and for Simrad (a division of Kongsberg) conducting marketing in the leisure marine electronics sector. |

Frank Wright – Manager, Renewables frank.wright@douglaswestwood.com Frank project manages commissioned research and market studies with a focus on renewable energy. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Edinburgh and then worked for Aberdeen Drilling Consultants as a project engineer. He then completed a postgraduate degree in Industrial Design Engineering including a design project with Unilever. At ITI Energy he worked as a technology analyst carrying out detailed market assessments and developing R&D programme proposals. Prior to joining Douglas-Westwood, Frank led market analysis activity at Scottish Enterprise in offshore wind and was on the selection panel for the Wave and Tidal Energy: Research, Development and Demonstration Support (WATERS) fund. |
